Sorry I have to be quick on this entry. The first important announcement is KK's 7 year old birthday that deserved to be celebrated with our big family but because several reason it goes almost unnotice. But I already promise that I will make it up to him by giving him 2 big Hot Wheels tracks ( feeling too guilty).

For the same reason ( again, feeling guilty ), my parents gave him a ridiculous amount of money ( Ang Pao ) ...

Again, because they took pity on KK ( I don't even buy him cake ), my uncle and my aunt bought a birthday cake ( that we still have not eat yet ) for him and gave him many hotwheel cars and other cool remote control car that light up like a disco car! Very cool! Plus balloons....

So yes, that is the first announcement.

Let's move on to the second announcement, my good friend Widajati who was my school mate for many years just came to Surabaya from Phoenix, AZ. So we find the time to go out with other school mate and had lunch at Shangri-La. She also came to my home to give me toys that I order for LL. She is kind enough to pay and bring them to me! Thank you Widi!!!

Even though not many old friends knows about our lunch ( I only have very few phone numbers to contact ) but we still had fun! We had so much fun that we forgot to take pictures of the only guy who showed up for this lunch, Felix. Poor guy, he is so intimidated by so many girls so he just drop off to say hi and then he went back to work. The rest went straight to eat lunch at Jamoo. There were me off course, Widi, Bebe, Lina, and Doris.

Last but not least announcement....

I am leaving tonight to Taipei and I am going to stay there for 5 weeks and the kids with their daddy will stay for 6 weeks. Like usual I offer to bring LL back first with me so Richard can have more pleasant trip with just one child to entertaint but he declined my offer. He said he wants to have both his kids with him longer!!! Well good for me to have such loving husband. He also knows that I will have a hard time to carry LL who is so heavy now. He is confident that KK will be more help to him to entertaint LL instead of another child to take care of. I can not agree more. KK has proof his skill many times over on how he can entertaint his little sister.

KK will be in his first summer camp in Taipei for 5 weeks. This summer camp headquarter is in US and the purpose is to educate mostly US born Taiwanese all about their parent's heritage or culture.

So yes, I hope I can update my blog while I stay in Taipei. This will be a bit difficult because usually I always....that is not true... what I mean to say is, usually Richard will carry at least one laptop to Taiwan but this time we do not bring any. So I have to borrow my father in law computer and I don't like to do that because everything are in Chinese characters!!!

So wish me a good trip. I promise I will take many pictures!!!

She Had Her First Fever

Pic: Listless

Poor baby, my little baby just had a bad week. First she can not stop throwing up anything that she ate or drank until there was nothing left in her tummy. Then we took her to her doctor and he told us she had a virus that comes from drinking her bath water by accident. Well... you know that Indonesia is a third world country right? Water here are not safe at all!!!

The doctor gave her medications that help to stop her from throwing up. He also warn us that she will have mild grade fever for 5 days and diarrhea. For some reason she did not have diarrhea at all but she had a high grade fever, around 38.5 till almost 40C ! Pretty scary. What was unusual, even with that high fever, she still wanted to eat and drink nonstop! Her eating habit still the same, but she is a lot quieter than usual. Her sleeping habit is almost the same too, just a little more which is very good because she can rest more.

Her fever turn to be more than 5 days. It is true that for 5 days she has high fever but after that for the next 2 days her fever still range between 37.8 till 38.1.

We tried to hold on and not rushing her directly to the lab for a blood check because she is very very scared with doctor ( she cried every time she saw a stethoscope ). We hope because her apetite is still the same her sickness is still not dangerous enough. But this IS Indonesia after all and we have a lot of cases of dengue fever and typhoid so at the end we have to bring her to the lab.

Poor....poor....baby.... she was so traumatize by the experience! She struggle with all her might while I have to hold her down on the bed. She screamed and screamed until her whole body from the tip of her head till the tip of her toes turn bright red!!! She screamed until she lost her voice!!! And all the while the nurse because she was so stressed out keep missing LL's vein so she has to keep on poking her with the needles few more times ( at least 3 times).

We went to the lab early in the morning. That day when LL took her nap, suddenly she woke up from her nap screaming and screaming hysterically and nobody can calm her down ( I was out working with R ). Luckily I came home very soon. I found her screaming wildly and I can even hear her from outside. I ran inside and I hold her and I tried to calm her with my whispers and my singing. She hugged me so tighly and keep sobbing. Oooh... her sob really broke my heart because she is not just crying because she doesn't want to sleep. Everybody can tell she is really traumatize by the nurse who took her blood test. She is so scared .

So I hold her and because she is still tired both from her cries and from her sickness she fell asleep while I rock her gently. But even then, her arms were still around my neck the whole time. She really needed me to give her the secure feeling that was lost. I tried hard not to cry too because I really wish that it was me who has to be tortured like that instead of her.

I would gladly give my life for her. I almost did when I gave birth to her and I am not scared to repeat that again as long as she can be happy and healthy.

KK knows that I love him more than my life too. I have paid the price when I gave birth to them and he knew it. I also told him that I love him more than my life all the time. What ever happen, I will always love them.

On the same day that LL had her blood checked, it was also the same day when she broke her fever....

I wish I would never bring her to the lab ... I wish I have more faith ...

Pic: Her father likes to read bible verses to her and her brother anywhere when he has the chance to do that. Sometimes in our bedroom, sometimes at his office and sometimes in the car.

Pic: She did not even have energy to look at the view outside.
Pic: She finally fell asleep. She couldn't even stay awake.

NOTE: She still woke up several times at night time and cries even until last night.

The Last Week Of First Grade

I really think that if a child has been enrolled at my son's school, it must be really really hard for that child to adjust to any other school less than SIS. Look at some of the pictures above and if you already read my blog previously you must have read also most activities that SIS has on regular basis.

This school has so many fun activities to keep the students happy to go to school. Jeez... my son even enjoy his homework! I couldn't even recall if I EVER enjoy any of my school's homeworks!!!

For his last week at school ( he is on summer holiday already now since May 26th ) the elementary throw a Water Day Party where from first grader till fifth grader can swim together in 2 swimming pools at school. They get to hang together, cooperate together as a team for the fun competition of diving and collecting coins from the bottom of the swimming pools and just relax.

My son chose to swim at the shallow water for his own reason ( He can swim just fine actually at the deep water pool ). I am guessing that he is very competitive and he knows that if he has to compete with older and bigger kids his chances of winning is pretty slim so he chose to compete with kids his age or slightly older like the second and even third grader that also swim at that shallow water pool.

After I took some photos and video I left him to have fun while I go shopping for grocery at the store accross from SIS . I know he will be fine, not only the life guards are there but all of the elementary teachers are there too to swim and play with the students.

I wish I had half of the fun that he is having that day on my school days ....
